I think talking about the fable is okay, but flat out lying is a no no. That said, I doubt we'll have the tooth fairy. My 4 year old gets an allowance already (he can count in case you're wondering why. Never too early to learn about money management).Deltaflutehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00489950329698009256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4999044146888823867.post-47608231900985063212014-04-26T22:46:46.079-05:002014-04-26T22:46:46.079-05:00What next , Joe, the tooth fairy??What next , Joe, the tooth fairy??Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10461381160593482705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4999044146888823867.post-83193766230715596162014-04-25T09:17:59.170-05:002014-04-25T09:17:59.170-05:00Agreed. Easter remains a good deal more pristine than Christmas, but the desire to secularize and commercialize it is present here, too, and should be resisted.

I.X.,

JoeJoe Heschmeyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06998682878420098470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4999044146888823867.post-20200406283758451252014-04-25T08:43:45.806-05:002014-04-25T08:43:45.806-05:00Oh, dear. We do the Saint Nicholas tradition (Dec. 6) and on Easter we do give the kids gifts. These are books etc with a religious slant to it. We don't spend thousands of dollars or anything like that. They know that it's from us for Easter. The intent is just like giving gifts for baptism since Easter is supposed to be a time of remembrance of our own baptism too.

I think these sorts of things are about intent. Obviously the Easter bunny is very secular. But celebrating saints' days, the Resurrection, etc. are perfectly fine. Otherwise we're like other Christian groups who basically refuse to celebrate anything including the Resurrection, which is equally silly. Families have to strike a balance.Deltaflutehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00489950329698009256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4999044146888823867.post-31027971266471624012014-04-24T23:08:02.954-05:002014-04-24T23:08:02.954-05:00In this culture of relativism there are bigger iss...In this culture of relativism there are bigger issues than this in my opinion.

Chris
Owner CEL Financial Services
http://www.taxprepfillmore.com/
ChrisMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12203048016333171333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4999044146888823867.post-41219786692176566512014-04-24T22:54:12.749-05:002014-04-24T22:54:12.749-05:00This is why I now call the feast of the Resurrecti...This is why I now call the feast of the Resurrection "Pascha" and nothing else. The Rad Tradhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00899289024837953345noreply@blogger.com
